NEW CBR1000RR SP2 HOMOLOGATION SPECIAL!!
We are so proud to anounce that Honda brings a really special SP2 version as homologation special for the Honda CBR1000RR SP1 2017! Where the specifications of the SP1 are already impressive the new SP2 is the real deal, and more!!
The street legal homologation special is made as a special edition because Honda will produced only 500 for race use. HRC logo's on this bike show the involvement of Honda's racing deparment obviously using the experiance and knowledge of the Ten Kate Honda World Superbike team as well.
The SP2 can be recognised on the carbon pattern bodywork. Together with the gold striping on the Honda HRC housstyle tricolourpaint mark this makes the Fireblade SP2’s different over the stock machine. Awesome lightweight golden Marchesini wheels are reducing the wheel inertia at the front by 18%, and 9% at the rear.
Of course the real difference is the tuning grade of the enigne that is making the SP2 up to a real racing bike to be able to compete on the highest world competition level. The engine is using a different racing cylinder head and on top of this two HRC power up racing kits in sport and race spec have been developed to increase engine performance up to incredible numbers! Of course Ten Kate is using the SP2 base and their knowledge to finetune this package to prepare the most famous reliable and worldfastest engine package!
With a 76mm boring identical to the SP1, the Fireblade SP2 cylinder head uses 1mm larger 31.5mm diameter intake valves and 1.5mm larger 25.5mm diameter exhaust valves, with 10°/12° included valve intake/exhaust included valve angles (from 11°/11°). The valve pitches are identical, maintaining cylinder head width. The SP2 uses the same 13.0:1 compression ratio with optimised valve shapes and combustion chambers as well as elongated spark plugs and a water jacket tightly wrapped around the combustion chambers to improve cooling. The re-designed pistons also use an exclusive crown design with heat treatment that strengthens the area around the piston boss, which itself employs a 2.5mm shorter (and 8g lighter per cylinder) piston pin.

Of course Ten Kate Racing Products is working to developed a fulll racing package, using HRC racing racingparts and TKRP developed and produced high performance parts. HRC electronic kit and full titanium exhaustsystem, racing bodywork, data systems, upgraded brakes packages, increased watercooling capacity in combination with the use of racing oil cooler kits.
